The mission of the CMS PreK-12 School Counseling Program is to provide comprehensive counseling services to maximize academic achievement, career development, and social emotional learning of every student.
School counselors are vital members of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Their fundamental role is to assist all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development, and career development. Currently, there are approximately 280 counselors at CMS elementary, middle and high schools.
Through a comprehensive school counseling program, CMS counselors provide a variety of services including:
