OVERVIEW

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Police Department is a fully authorized state police agency, providing both police and security services to all Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Campuses and property to include over 146,000 students and 18,000 district staff members. The Department is comprised of two divisions--Patrol and Investigative Services--with a special emphasis on community oriented policing in an effort to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all CMS students, staff, parents and community. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Police Department collaborates regularly with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
