Exceptional Children
Family Engagement

Programs for Exceptional Children is committed to having strong and open lines of communication with families. Here are the ways in which we communicate with families:

Parent & Community Outreach Website

We have a Parent & Community Outreach Website which contains Parent Communication & Frequently Asked Questions, Learning Resources, Virtual Family Nights, Community Resources, and Language Help.

Emails, Phone Calls, and Texts via ConnectED

You will receive automated messages from Programs for Exceptional Children with information about upcoming events. Please ensure that your contact information in PowerSchool is updated so you receive this information.

Flyers through your child's teacher

Sometimes we may ask your child's teacher to send home flyers about upcoming events sponsored by CMS Programs for Exceptional Children. Please keep an eye out for these!

EC Parent Liaison

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our district’s EC Parent Liaison, Elaine Jones. She can be reached via phone at 980-343-6960 or via email at elaine.jones@cms.k12.nc.us.

As you receive messages from us, please share with friends and share on social media! Eliminating the communication barriers will help us all spend more time on what really matters- supporting our students with disabilities.
