Property Management

The CMS Property Management Department consists of Property Management, Community Use of Schools, and the Customer Service Center.  The department provides service for a district portfolio that is the second largest in the state of North Carolina. The schools and facilities it supports are divided into seven Learning Communities serviced by 1 Director, 1 Senior Portfolio Manager, 1 Community Use of Schools Manager, 1 Customer Service Manager, and 2 Community Facilities Assistants and 2 Customer Service Assistants. The district is comprised of approximately:

  • 5,247 Acres of Land
  • 181 Schools
  • 209 Total Sites/Facilities
  • 1,025,774 square feet of Mobile/Modular Classrooms
  • 99,448 square feet of Mobile/Modular Restrooms

Property Management's core competency is providing property and facilities-related expertise for the school district, and excellent customer service to our public. It strives to take facilities-related issues and concerns away from Principals' everyday decision making so that they may concentrate on Curriculum and Instruction.  It goes about providing this service in three primary areas – general maintenance and property management activities, external constituent activities and construction management activities, as follows but not limited to:
