Mecklenburg County NC Pre-K is accepting applications from 4- or 5-licensed star child care centers in Mecklenburg County that are interested in becoming NC Pre-K sites for the 2022-2023 school year. Sites holding a Temporary License will also be considered.
Interested sites must send a representative to the Informational Session held by the contracting agency, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. This meeting will be held virtually on December 7th at 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Please utilize the following zoom link. The applicants must:

Submit all Required Supporting Documentation
All applications (email or in person) are due no later than January 3, 2022 by 5:00pm. (Any application received after this date will not be considered for site selection). Submit All Complete Applications via Email. In-person applications must be dropped off by 5:00pm January 3, 2022 to 1901 Herbert Spaugh Lane. Emails with required attachments should be sent to Erika1.Ugues@CMS.K12.NC.US. You will receive back an email of receipt of application.
The NC Pre-K Site Selection Committee will review all applications and make their recommendations to the NC Pre-K Committee. Sites may be subject to a visit during the site selection process. Final decisions of site selection will be made by the NC Pre-K Committee. Sites that are approved may or may not obtain classrooms over the next few years. Approved sites are required to comply with all applicable NC Child Care Rules, specifically Rule .3000 North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten Services and NC Pre-K Program Guidelines and Requirements.
