Our Mission
School psychologists help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. We collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students. We work to strengthen connections between home and school.
About School Psychologists
School psychologists are mental health specialists who have advanced graduate degrees with training in both psychology and education. The preparation focuses on child development, the psychology of learning and behavior, curriculum and instruction, and skills in mental health and educational interventions. School psychologists are licensed by the North Carolina Department of Instruction and some may be recognized by the National Association of School Psychologists as Nationally Certified School Psychologists (NCSP).
