There are many quality providers of technical assistance available from private business consultants to public organizations. Below is a listing of several organizations available in the Charlotte and surrounding area that assist small business owners.

The primary focus is on management counseling, addressing issues including financing, marketing, human resources, operations, business planning, and feasibility assessment

Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Loan Fund Program

The SBE Loan Fund of $10 million is a public/private fund established to assist small businesses with gaining access to capital. The program is administered by Self-Help Credit Union through a partnership with the City of Charlotte. Existing for-profit businesses that are located with the Charlotte Metropolitan Statistical Area that are in need of capital yet considered just below “bankable” by traditional lenders may apply to be given consideration for the program.

Fees for services provided are set at the sole discretion of the provider. Further, upon an initial consultation with the business owner, Technical Assistance Providers may refer the business to a subsequent technical assistance provider.
