Elementary Social Studies
Elementary Social Studies offers several field trips at various grade levels.
The following field trip information documents are available for grades two, three, four, and five.
For additional information and/or details, please contact the CMS Social Studies Specialist John Nabors - 980-343-0654.  Third Grade - Historic Site Tour - The Historic Site Tours are scheduled for schools by the historic site, social studies department, and school.
The historic site tours locations are:

  3. James K. Polk Homesite
  4. Historic Rural Hill
  5. Mint Hill Historical Society
  6. Latta Plantation
The purpose of the field trip is to help students better understand the history of our community.  Personnel, staff, and/or docents will conduct the field trip at each site.  Each site will send pre-field trip materials through school courier service approximately two weeks prior to the site visit.
